Balearic Islands or Baleares (Illes Balears officially in Catalan) is a Spanish autonomous region consisting of the Balearic islands in the archipelago, situated in the Mediterranean Sea along the east coast of the Iberian Peninsula.

The archipelago is made up of two groups of islands and numerous islets:

• The Gimnesias: Menorca, Mallorca and Cabrera and some nearby islets (as Dragonera, Island Aire and others).

• The Pitiusas: Ibiza and Formentera and various islets that surround as Conejera (which we see in the photo below).
